The trip started of with the
journey to the border. One of the party made a quick decision on the way and
bought herself a off-road
trailer as we passed Pretoria. Everything
went well at the border and after half an hour we were on our way. I have to take a break
now. Our breakfast has just arrived.I ordered my favourite “peri-peri chicken
livers” not recommended for the ones that get a bit sea sick (ask Fred) . Apart from a wiper
that came loose and one of the 4x4’s that had problems with its auto
gearbox the journey went without any
problems. Not even one roadblock. Before the trip I warned everybody about a
disease that you get “Pomene fever” for the people that haven’t been to
Pomene it is very difficult to explain. You have to experience it for
yourself to know what we are talking about. In severe cases you find it very
difficult to adapt to our rat race again. One of the group is even
considering moving there. If you are a nature lover and like to live from
nature this is a trip not to be missed (a good 4x4 is a must). Start planning
now for next years trip to Pomona and get your share of the fever. Oh wait, Swinnie is
calling us, it is time for us to go and prepare for our next dive |
